My sister is a marvelous help to us during this time of harrassment. She was even physically attacked by an orthodox woman. Here is her site:

This whole community is becoming polarized over this issue. People (Unbelievers) are saying…

“Why are the Datim (Ultra-Religious Jews) doing this to you? You have only been doing good since you arrived.”

“The Mayor talks and talks and does nothing. The Christians don’t talk – they DO whatever we need!” (asked by a holocaust survivor)

“Why is it the Christians didn’t harass the Jews in Russia, but the Jews are harassing the Christians in Israel?” (This was a question posed to the Head Rabbi in Arad by a Russian immigrant)

“Their behavior (the religious Jews) makes me ashamed to be called a Jew.”

“Your coercion tactics against the Christians are pushing me to defend the Christians.” (a mother said to a Rabbi after he told her not to talk to us.)

“You should make a lot of noise about this – tell the papers and the TV.” (A lot of people have said this)

“Are you leaving Arad?” (NO – NOT an option!)

I saved the best for last: “Why are they so upset with you?” This is a DIRECT question with a ONE-WORD ANSWER: Y’SHUA!!!!

All these questions lead to conversations about Y’shua: as a result, many people come to our shop and take books and ask more questions. The Chess players have formed a committee to defend us against the slander of the orthodox and they have gone to the Mayor about this campaign.

All in all, we see GOD at work here. It is very stressful and tiring but it is worth it all for the sake of the Kingdom and the Glorification of the Name of the Lord.

The orthodox Jews have no clue as to the extent of the spiritual war they are involved in and how the devil is using them. They think are doing a service to God. Y’shua warned us this would happen. (John 15:18 – 16:3) It is just another testimony to His Truth! The Lord is using bad things and turning them to His own purposes and bringing His people to Himself! Pray for these lost ones!

1. Pray for the believers to be a strong but humble witness and not fail against the tactics of the Orthodox.
2. Pray for souls to be touched with the Love of God!
3. Pray for resources (food and money) to be used to help those in need.
4. Pray for the bills to be met – the vandalism against the shop has ruined our budget. (the summer bills are always high - 3 months Rent for our house is due this month. Along with inspection for our van and car and insurance ) The Lord has always met our needs; the only question I have is “who will be blessed along with us?” The Lord loves a happy giver and we love to pass His blessings along to others in need.
5. Pray for a man named Sasha – we think he is remarkable. He is a Russian immigrant who speaks Hebrew and English. He has been helping us and standing strong. He is a very humble person and we all see that the Lord is calling him into fulltime ministry. He knows his Bible and has the gift of evangelism. Our prayer: “Lord, we asked for workers and you have given us Sasha, but his time is so limited because he is washing dishes in a hotel for a living. We are asking you to bless him and make it possible that he can spend his days sharing the gospel and not have to spend 13 hours a day in a corner by himself washing dishes. Make him a fulltime fisher of men like you did with the disciples of old. He is not complaining about his job – rather he is grateful to have a job when so many are out of work. But time is short and we are short-handed. Thank you for bringing more workers to the harvest! Your kingdom come – your will be done! In Y’shua’s Name!”
