'An OutdoorPlace to Play Chess' (project cancellation)

The last any of you heard about the “An Outdoor Place to Play Chess” project, I was scheduled to meet with the vice mayor. Well, that meeting took place and my picture ended up in the local Russian newspaper.

The newspaper referred to us, the chess players of Arad, as the underground children. It quoted me as saying something like “I have friends in America who will help me build a chess pavilion similar to the one in Rishon Letzion if the city provides the land”.

Well, I think the vice mayor was just playing politics. You see, our meeting took place a couple of weeks before his term was ending. Although the vice mayor showed keen interest and enthusiasm in our project, he couldn’t help us unless re-elected. Consequently he got our votes, but didn’t win….A lose – lose proposition! ():)

Not really a loss for us, just one of those doors God shuts when He’s guiding you to something Bigger and Better!

Well, after a few more door closures and a chain of events later, we saw the light!

A building!

It’s everything rolled up in one! But you must look at it though your spiritual eyes! You must see its potential and endless possibilities!

Therefore the pavilion project is scrubbed, finished, kaput and the building project is on!
