The nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38:1-6 are modern-day Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Iran, Ethiopia & Somalia and other nations. Apparently the European nations will go along with the invasion of Israel.

During the past few years, the European Union has made outright threats that if Israel does not make peace (Palestinian State) that they will come down and make peace for us.

Of course, Iran has been funding the terror network for many years and has repeatedly said it wants to wipe Israel off the map.

Russia has been complicit with Iran in helping it build nuclear power plants. Russian scientists have been working for years in the Iran Nuclear area. Russia has also had advisors in Lebanon with the Hizbullah and has participated in shooting missiles at Israel. They have established a military seaport on the Mediterranean coast of Syria.

The latest nation to turn against Israel is Turkey. It has been a favorite tourist attraction for Israelis and it has had a good relationship with the Israeli government. Each year, Turkey, Israel and the United States engage in military exercises. This year, Turkey has refused to participate in the war games unless Israel was boycotted. The result was that the Untied States and Italy both quit the war exercises. Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, has criticized Israel before, but now, he is ostracizing Israel.

Ever since the genocide against Armenians in WWI, Armenia and Turkey have not been on talking terms until this year. They have signed an historic agreement to normalize relations and establish embassies. The treaty is waiting to be ratified by both countries.

The northern invasion is imminent. All the countries named in Ezekiel 38 are already aligned against Israel.

Please notice that there is not an Arab country among them. There may be Arab countries involved, because verse 6 says, “…many nations with you.” But they are not the prime moving force behind this invasion.

Also please notice who is the prime moving force behind this invasion: God Himself. As you read through Ezekiel 37-39, you will see the countries are coming to take a spoil – that’s what they think, but God says, He is drawing them to Israel to destroy them. In the end He will get the glory!

What can we do about it? Pray for mercy in the midst of Judgment! There will be many refugees from this war and the believers in Arad are expecting to help take care of them. Arad was a city of refuge in the past -- it will be again! Lura
