How to manage multiple games!

I once managed 270 simultaneous games w/o going crazy and w/o losing my wife.

(Never Again)

1. First thing I always did was check to see if I had any games to claim (claim win) due to my opponent’s time expiration:  Goto: Play/Current Games… If you have any ‘claim wins’ they will be at the top of this list.  If so I’d Click on the game # to open game page/Claim Win (brown button on lower right)/and Arrow back to game page/

Click: ‘tournament crosstable to view your current standings/Arrow back to Current Games page

2. Next I’d goto: ‘Order current games by’/Change drop-down-menu from ‘Time Left’ to Your turn and least time left’/Click: Summit…and

Work through all of your most pressing games by opening each game page, make your move, and arrow back to ‘current games’ page, repeating the process.

3. Next I’d Arrow back to the ‘current games’ page

Goto ‘Order current games by’/Change drop-down-menu from ‘Your turn and least time left’ to ‘Latest moves played – your turn’…This is the page I mainly like to work from.

4. Note:

I was playing 1, 2, 5, 7 and 10 day tournaments.  The wife was on my back.  It was coming down to ‘sex or chess’ you could say.  The 1 and 2 day games were becoming a problem.  I used ‘my vacation days’ as needed to keep from loosing games to ‘claim wins’.  Thus I began focusing on eliminating my 1, 2, and 5 day games as soon as possible.

5. Another place I liked working from was ‘Most length descending – your turn’ in the drop down menu.  This allowed me to focus on games that were in their final stages, thus helping me to knock these games out.

6. Finally:

When running high volumes of games, I now like to play primarily 7 & 10 day tourneys.

7. I hope this info was helpful and makes sense!

Enjoy your games and thanks for joining the tournament!
