Along the western coast of Israel between Tel Aviv and Haifa is the resort town of Netanya. It sits atop the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is a modern city with more than 100,000 residents. It has a beautiful parkway and path along the top of the cliff overlooking the beach below. There is a city center square with many restaurants and coffee shops around it. On weekends there is always dancing in the square with a live DJ and sometimes other evenings with taped music. There is always something interesting going on in Netanya, whether it is in the city proper or on the beach below.
While most of Netanya can be considered secular, northern Netanya has an orthodox Jewish neighborhood with a separated bathing beach area and hotel facilities. There is a major hospital, orphanage and schools especially catering to the needs of the orthodox. There are also many synagogues throughout the city.
