They Paid The Price

Following yet another intense confrontation with a group of terrorist religious at last Monday nites Soup Kitchen for the needy, Lura and Eddy's Chess Club was burned down Wednesday nite at midnight.

The building remains, but the inside is destroyed.

The elderly chess and domino players showed up the next morning not knowing what had happened.

Were they surprised?  Some yes, I'm sure, some not, I'm sure.

Most of the players are Russian and they come from a country full of surprises; are used to strife; and going on, as are most Jews.

By the grace of God, we go on!

As this happened, and after Monday nite's severe confrontation, I was fasting for a breakthrough.  Friday morning God shares the following with me:

Redemption has come to Arad!

The Hebrew word for redemption is Ga'al, "to buy back, or to redeem" (Jer. 32:6-44).

Lura and Eddie will redeem the Chess Club.  They put much money, work, and time into it, but now they will redeem it (Ruth 4:1-12).

They had to pay a price in order to secure the release of someone or something.

It's the idea of paying what is required in order to liberate from oppression, enslavement, or another type of binding obligation from one's enemies.

God had to cause destruction in Egypt in order to release the Israelites - redemption (Exo. 6:6).

The sacrificial system was a constant reminder that a price had to be paid in order to have redemption from sin.  In this case the sins of the enemy.

Sin brings about captivity (Isa. 40:2).

The death of God's son brought redemption.  God lost His Son to forgive us, to redeem us (Rom. 3:21-26)!

The death of my son brought my redemption.  I had to pay a price for my sins!

God's redemption of fallen humanity is costly (1 Cor. 6:20).

The sins of the people were redeemed on Wednesday niteNOW mighty things are going to happen.

We are going to see redemption in this city!

Thank you for your prayers!

The Lord bless you and keep you!
