Subject: Quoting David Ortiz on Scott Sekulow's radio program
To:
We've heard a lot of important information from others, but it is important to hear what David Ortiz himself has to say about the investigation into the terror bombing that almost ripped his youngest son from life.
It is important that we do not further just wishful thinking about the source of the pipe bomb, but that we inform Christians of the facts, even if those facts are painful to us. It is imperative to speak the truth in love - in a way that does not encourage anti-Semitic backlash, but also does not sweep this escalation to attempted murder under the carpet. The truth must be known if the Church will have any impact on these developments. --D.Diorio
The following is a verbatim excerpt transcript from a radio program conducted by Messianic rabbi Scott Sekulow early last week. http://www.rabbiscott.com/
Scott Sekulow: How people can help?
David Ortiz: "A good thing to do is to write to the Israeli Embassy and tell them in this investigation because this is the first time in history, in Israeli history, that a bomb has been placed in the home of a civilian that had nothing to do with crime or anything like this. So it has reached a new level in persecution of Messianic believers.
"There are a lot of religious groups in power here in the police itself, so it is very important to tell the Israelis, ‘We are lovers of Israel with all our hearts, but in the case of Ami Ortiz we are requesting as a friend to a friend that there should be no religious or political interference in the investigation. That the people who did these things have to be caught so they won’t ruin the lives of other people."
Scott Sekulow: Can you tell us a little bit where the investigation is at right now? I know there were reports that it was a terrorist group or an ultra-Orthodox group.
David Ortiz: "Officially, just to be clear, as soon as it happened teachers of Ariel were informed because they (the police) knew already where it (the bomb) came from. And the teachers were told that new security measures have to be taken within the city – not against Palestinians, but, sad to say, against some Israelis themselves. And at this point it is officially not a terrorist attack, but it is attempted murder, meaning that it is Jewish with Jewish. It has nothing to do with Palestinian outside. It is an internal affair now; a criminal investigation to one Jew to another. So this is where it’s at right now."
