"Ode To My Toothbrush"
By Allix Mountain
Oh polisher of pearly whites
Oh restorer of the sparkling smile
You never fail to help me achieve
That great whiteness
That glistening brightness
That shines past my parted lips.
Oh guardian of minty greetings
Oh preventer of cavities
You wield your power through soft bristles
Armed with sodium monofluorophosphate
Fighting plaque
And waging the attack
On germs and halitosis.
Oh navigator of teeth and gums
Oh tool of dentists and hygienists
Your gentle curves and textured grip
Fit neatly in the palm of my hand.
When partnered with paste
Your brushing action makes waste
Of acids and tarter crumbs.
So this is the moral of my ode:
A small wand in the hand
When used twice daily
Is an effective decay-preventive dentifrice
That gives you minty freshness
And icy cool breath that lasts.
