Ahh the plump pink piggy. Master of disguise! |
What comes from pigs? Many many meats. Pig meat is most famously called Pork, which can be specially treated to make Ham. And if cut from a certain part of pig, Bacon (pictured left).
Also starred in: Pork sausages, always a favourite with lovers of greasy food. Bacon and ham are both popular sandwich fillers. More adventurous pig-eaters have been known to eat pig-feet, under the guise of 'trotters'. And then there's gammon (pictured below)...the mystery of the meat world...Just what it is, no one knows.

Why is pig meat grrrreat? Because there's no meal in existence that can't be made from a fat pig.
For more info: See beloved children's tale 'The three little pigs' where pigs are not meat at all, but living things being pursued by a wolf hungry for some rashers.
