the middle
class is in my blood and in my head. i have no choice but to accept
the inevitability of remaining middle class for the rest of my
life, which is not so bad a prospect i suppose. i am as middle-england
bourgeois as it is possible to be. financial security has always
been guaranteed, as has the security of a safe family unit, i
have never wanted for anything in my life.
