My name is Laura, and I have lived in St. Louis,
MO most of my life. I graduated with my BA in Computer Science at
Illinois
College in Jacksonville, IL. I am currently getting my MA in
Computer Resources and Information Management at Webster
University in St. Louis. I have two pets, Jojo and Lily.
Jojo is a 4 year old Boston Terrier, and Lily is a 1 year old calico cat.
I am a UNIX system administrator for Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Mo. I have worked there for almost 4 years.
I perform system administration task on HPUX from HP
and AIX systems from IBM. I am also
working as project lead for a couple of project dealing with implementation
of different packages of software. The packages I am working on are
Tivoli
Frameworks
and Software Distribution,
PeopleSoft
Financials and Supply Chain Management, Veritas
NetBackup, and Merant's PVCS Version
Manager.
I have many hobbies and interests. I like
to do crafts such as paint ceramics and cross-stitching. I also like
to bake pies, cakes, cookies, and candies. My snow globe and
music box collection will eventually take over my house, but that's okay.
I love cars, and my favorite sport is drag racing. Nothing can compare
to a car going 325 miles in the quarter mile right in front of you!
I also like football, baseball, and hockey. Can you guess what my
favorite sports teams are? My boyfriend, Keith, and I also take part
in French-Indian war re-enactments. It is really interesting seeing
history right before your eyes.
