Old Fashion Tiger Lily Daylilies first reached England in 1575. Daylilies are perfect for a summer garden. These flowering perennials will grow 18 to 24 inches in height and bloom 6 to 8 inch flowers. These plants are carefree, wanting only good, well-drained garden soil in full sun. Forget-Me-Not The Forget-Me-Not is a dainty perennial that blooms in early summer. The plant is low growing and has small tufted leaves and a loose papery sheath at the base of the stems. Yarrow A wildflower originally from Europe and western Asia. The botanical name refers to Achilles, the hero of Greek legend. Yarrow will grow between 1 and 3 feet, blooming from June until August, and often until frost. Flowers are small and arranged in flat heads on top of stout stems. The foliage is finely cut and resembles a fern. Most are aromatic and smell of chamomile. Plants thrive in full sun, although will tolerate a small amount of shade. Yarrow are especially suitable for the garden border and look well in masses. They are excellent both as cut flowers and dried for winter bouquets. (Click Image To Enlarge)
Yellow Daylily Lilies are the mainstay of the summer bulb garden. This lily bears large yellow trumpet-shaped flowers.
