Here are pics of some of the other rigs I've had over the years.
My first "Off Road" vehicle. This is the '73 Pontiac Catalina
that I had in high school, playing in the swamps of Florida. And yes, that is a
For Sale sign in the back window!

My first four wheel drive was a 1971 Jeep Wagoneer, but apparently I never
took any pictures of it.
Then I had this 1979 F-150. It had the Ultra-anemic 351M, with a
2-barrel carb. It was gutless and got a whopping seven miles to the
gallon on the highway. But it
came from the factory with limited slips front and rear so it would go nearly
anywhere since it was brand new and the clutches hadn't worn out yet. But
this truck turned out to be the sorriest excuse for a vehicle that ever
rolled off an assembly line. In the 18 months that I owned it, it spent
about 3 of those months sitting at the dealership, having one thing or another
fixed under warranty. I sold it, bought a Chevy Blazer, and never looked
back.

Here's the F-150 after it left me stranded about 2 and 1/2 hours outside of
Salt Lake City, Utah. On one of its many trips to the stealership, they
had apparently NOT tightened the outer lock nut for the drivers side wheel
bearing properly. So it backed off during a long day of wheelin' and then
everything inside the hub self destructed.
The dealer that had worked on it last was in Dallas, Texas, so I was stuck,
literally and figuratively! I had to leave it parked in the
mountains for a week, (try doing that today and the vandals the thieves would
reduce your rig to scrap! ) while the
local Ford dealer had parts brought in from around the country to fix it.
Then a buddy and I drove back up there the next weekend to install all the new
parts. That's his old beater Chevy that we used to rescue my 1-year-old
Ford. This was in 1980 and I've never owned a Ford product since.

For a while, I also had this 62 Willys Wagon. It had a 289 and a
4-speed that had been swapped into it from a Mustang. The shifter required
floor mods that made it very difficult (and uncomfortable!) to keep your foot on
the gas pedal. With no overdrive, tiny tires, and 4.27 gears, it was
quick, but top speed was severely limited. Sadly I had to sell this one
when I didn't have a way to take it with me on a cross-country move.
