We have centers every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
LETTER CENTER: This center focus' on one letter each week in the following order: M, B, S, T, F, A, C, P, N, I, H, R, L, D, G, O, K, W, J, V, Q, E, Z, Y, X and finally U. Each student will come to this center every week (5 each day) with Mrs. Yankus. We will focus on capital & lower case recognition, sound and correct written formation on lined paper. After each letter is introduced, students will practice writting the letter & will write an orginal "story" of something that starts with the letter of the week. When this is completed, students will create an art project about what they just wrote.
LISTENING CENTER: This center will always include a piece of literature from our Reading Series. Students will listen to the book and participate in tasks simular to the theme of the book. All tasks will include a writing activity and follow up with an art activity. Kindergartners will come to this center on a rotating basis. When all students have come through, a new center will take it's place with a different theme and tasks.
