Quest # 2
In this Quest you will work to discover the purpose and construction of Medieval castles. Often people have a "romantic" idea of a wonderful exciting life living in a castle - of parties and grand balls. But life in a medieval castle was often hard, cold and full of possible dangers. Your job in this quest will be to learn all you can - and then design a castle. Remember the original purpose of a castle - location of your fortress is important.
You can draw the plans of a castle on a poster - or you can build one from a shoebox - or whatever materials you may have on hand. See below for the grading rubric for this assignment.

Website #1 is called "Castle Architecture" and will help you learn more about the structure of a castle as well as how location plays an important role. Be sure to check out the links within this site.
Website #2 is about the "Parts of a Castle" it is an easy to read and understand as it explains the parts of a castle and why each part is important.
Website #3 I wonder if a Knight needed a bathroom pass? Check out what some might consider an important part of a castle. This site is called "Castle Privy."
Website # 4 is called "Castle Trivia" and just has a bunch of trivia that might come in handy if you ever get called to be on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or Jeopardy.
