Health and Nutrition - Tryptophan

There are certain foods you can use to help you sleep at night if you are stressed from a busy day.

Some of these foods are dates, peanuts, soy products such as tofu, cottage cheese and eggs.

The reason for eating these food is because they contain Tryptophan . Tryptophan is a precursor to the feel good hormones seratonin and melatonin. When you eat these foods Tryptophan changes to seratonin which is an important chemical in the brain that can reduce stress and cause sleepiness. So instead of taking sleep medication, try eating some of these foods to calm you down for a restful night.
