Wimbledon is the greatest tennis tournament in the world. All of the greatest players gather in England every summer to play in this great tournament. The circular dome stadium is the new court No 1. and the main Stadium is centre court, the most famous court in tennis history, were legends have been made. This fantastic tournament is said to have only one fault, and they are going to sort it out! Being held in the greatest country in the world there is going to be rain, this has caused many problems. This is going to be fixed by the 2010 tournament where there is going to be a retracting roof on the centre court.  


The US Open is the last grand slam in the calendar. It begins around a month after Wimbledon. It is in the months of August and September. It is held at the USTA national tennis centre in New York. At Flushing Medals some of the greatest players have contested and one legendary player who has blessed the world of tennis with his skills has won this tournament many times, American hero Pete Sampras.  


The French Open (Rolland Garros) is played on clay. This tournament sees many different winners to the US open and Wimbledon. Some of the clay specialists are gustavo kuerten, Guillermo Coria and Juan Carlos Ferrero. This is the second grand slam tournament of the year.


This is the first Grand Slam tournament in the tennis calendar. The Australian Open is played on hard court like the US Open. At this tournament the crowd cheer on local hero Lleyton Hewitt.
