Dictionary & Thesaurus Project
I have always wanted a Dictionary and thesaurus program for my computer. When I am writing a paper on my computer it would just be very convienient to have a program on my computer that would help me find a word or explain what how a word is actually used. Also when i am talking on a messenger program I like to use proper english and I like to spell things correctly. I find myself often going to
Dictionary.com but this website is slow and causes a lot of pop ups.
I want it to be an up to date program that doesn't take up a lot of room so I can keep it running at the bottom of my screen at all times. This is so I can just enter in a word at any time and see if i spelt it right or find other words similar to it. I know there are many programs like this but i want mine to be very compact and easy to use. The only thing i want in the main menu is a text box to enter text and buttons to chose whether I want the definition or similar words. There can be drop down menus with other features like how to use it in a sentence or related texts or websites about this subject.
This would require the use of some dictionary database that would hold all the information. It should also include an update feature that would connect to this database and download any updates because sometimes new words are added to the english language. There might also be features that allowes for other languages because then this program could be spread to other countries that don't speak english.
I think this would be a good project to do because i would actually use it all the time. There are so many occasions that i need to spell a word and i just can't figure it out. This would help me out so much.
I was looking at this program wordweb Pro but it just isn't compact enough that i can leave it running all the time so that i can use it when ever I want.
