Behind These Hazel Eyes
February 18, 2005
Poem for a friend...
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Nick Lachey
Topic: Another poem:
Is There Something There?

She wants it so bad
Something that so many have
Valentine's is approaching, and she's still alone
She wonders if she'll ever find the one in time
She cries at night, wishing he would come
Her knight in shining armor, to come and whisk her away
To a place she'd rather stay
And be held in his arms
Comfortable and dreamy
In a fairy-tale world
So far, she's scheming
She sees this one
She feels his pain
Alone and tired of untrusting souls
His eyes show his pain
Tired of people who break his heart
Love had captured him
And suddenly would flee
Leaving his heart open
No sign of locking it up
No sign of a key
She's the only one that can close him up
He needs that again
So does she,
the security of someone's arms
Is there something there?
A new beginning
For both needy souls
A chance to regain trust
It's all there, the verge of an opening
To a new path of emotions
Is something there?
I can see it in their eyes
The way it all plays out
There's no reason to doubt
Just open up, and let her in
There's something there.
