Fun Times Childcare

WELCOME TO MY CHILD CARE! Following will be a list of rules, hours and rates, information about me and information I need about you and your children. Hopefully this will answer many questions you have concerning our child care. Feel free to ask additional questions!

AGES:

I care for children from age 1 through age 12.

WHAT I OFFER AT MY CHILD CARE:

Story time / Outdoor Play / Tumbling

Games / Crafts /

Art Projects / Music

Learning Time / Quiet Time / Naps

ENVIRONMENT:

My home will provide clean and well-supervised play areas. The toy and play area, all blankets, pillows and nap area is sprayed daily with a disinfectant. Weekly, toys are sanitized with bleach and water in our dishwasher. All bedding (nap-time) is washed weekly or as needed. I have outlet protectors in all outlets not being used. All harmful chemicals, medications, or dangerous items are kept behind closed doors on top shelves. The cupboard doors all have childproof latches. All dishes and utensils will either be disposable or sanitized after each use. All washing will be done with either a fresh clean washcloth or disposable wipes.

DISCIPLINE:

The rules will be explained to the children to the best of their understanding. They will be reminded of the rules when necessary. All children will be treated equally. I use redirection for the most part. On very rare occasions "time out," one minute per year of age.

DEPENDABILITY:

I am here and open 5 days a week from 6:00am to 6:00pm . My child care is open to all children, regardless of race, nationality, or creed, who may benefit from my type of program. Should a reason arise when I must be absent from my child care I will request each family have a back-up child care provider or I will help you locate one.

VACATION TIME:

My child care may be closed for up to 3 weeks per a calendar year for my own personal family vacation time.  I will give two weeks or more notice to my parents. You will not be charged for this due to you having to pay another provider.

I am closed for the following holidays yearly:

Memorial Day

4th of July Holiday

Labor Day

Veterans Day

Thanksgiving & following Day (Fri)

December 24th, 25th, & 26th

New Years Day

* * * The above holidays are subject to change * * *

You will not be required to pay for these holidays, as I do not provide care those days. If your child (ren) requires care on these holidays, you will need to rely on your back-up care giver.

I do ask you to give me the courtesy of 2 weeks prior notification when you will be taking a vacation. You will be charged half rate for this time; this is to hold your spot(s).

I require a minimum of 24 hours prior notification if your child (ren) will be gone for one day (when not because of illness). This is to better help me with my daily planning. Full rates apply in this case.

FULL TIME CHILD CARE: 26-40+ hours per week

$90.00/week: If your child (ren) is/are picked up later than your scheduled contract time, you will be charged for the extra time, unless something else has been arranged prior. It is $3.00/hour and this may be pro rated.

PART TIME CHILD CARE: up to 25 hours per week

$45.00/week: If your child (ren) is/are picked up later than your scheduled contract time, you will be charged for the extra time, unless something else has been arranged prior. It is $3.00/hour and this may be pro rated.  This can also be considered “Drop-in” care, if space is available, that would be $3.00 per an hour OR if over 5 hours it’s considered full day which is $20.00 per day, this is only for “Drop-in” care.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE:

$65.00/week: This applies to children which are full time students who need morning and afternoon care.  No drop off or pick up service available from myself, your child must attend one of the local schools, & can ride the bus to and from the drop off point in my neighborhood, I will be walking the children to the bus and making sure they load the bus safely, I will also be retrieving the children from the bus stop and they will walk to my home with me.

WHAT I ASK OF THE PARENTS:

1. Please enter on your own as you feel comfortable. Do not wait for me to come to the door, sometimes I am in the middle of an activity with a child and cannot leave them unattended. Bring your child (ren) in and help them with their coats and shoes if necessary. Give any special instructions at this time. When picking up your children I will try to highlight your child's day at this time although I may have two parents standing in front of me at the same time. Every Friday you will be given a sheet of what your child has done that week in my care.

2. Abide by prearranged hours. If you will be running late or dropping off early, please call me and let me know as soon as possible.

3. Financial agreements must be kept according to the contract. Should there be any questions regarding your bill, I will be glad to discuss it and go over it with you. PROMPT PAYMENT IS REQUIRED as I have a budget to follow and scheduled payments to make.

4. Bring a change of clothing for your child. Dress them according to the weather. Remember, Spring and Fall have cool mornings and warm to hot afternoons. In the Winter, I require that you provide gloves, stocking cap, scarf, snow pants and snow boots pending on snowy days.

5. When needed - I ask you to provide the following:

Formula/Baby Food-Diapers & Wipes

Change of Clothing

When potty training, I require that you supply Pull-ups. You must work with your child at home for two weeks, with success, before I will begin potty training at child care. Clothing should be easy to manage to encourage self help and independence skills. Buckles and suspenders, when in a hurry to use the restroom, may create a problem, so please, no suspenders or belts.

WELLNESS POLICY:

Fun Times Childcare is a "Well Child Care Facility"! This means if your child is not feeling well, for whatever reason, you must make other arrangements for their care until they are feeling well and no longer contagious. Do not bring your child (ren) to child care if they have a fever over 101.0, diarrhea, vomiting or have a contagious illness. The child (ren) will not be allowed back into care until they are symptom free for 24 hours. If they are too sick to go outside, they are too sick to be at child care.

If your child has a common cold - slight cough, sneezing, or a runny nose, you can bring them to child care. However, when the cold reaches the point when your child will not play, cries, whines, wants to be held constantly, or has a continuous cough, you will be required to keep your child home. If a child is brought "too sick" you will be phoned to pick up your child. If your child is sick enough to require Prescription medication - Pink-Eye, Strep Throat, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, etc... I will require you to keep your child (ren) home until he or she has been on medication for 48 hours and they are no longer contagious.

MEDICATION

If you request me to administer medication (prescription or other) you must complete an authorization form BEFORE I WILL ADMINISTER. Please dispense all medications at home whenever possible. Prescription medication must be in the original container with the pharmacy label and doctor instructions.

I ask parents to please follow the guidelines for illness. This is for the protection of all those involved. Many times either my child care or I get blamed for the illness of a child. Yet, parents don't realize the majority of this is brought into my home exposing my own family, too. If you are not sure if a child should be brought, feel free to call us ahead of time.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY:

1. Call parents at work.

2. Contact Doctor or nurse.

3. Child is separated from the other children and cared for.

4. Child is transported by parent, or ambulance to doctor or hospital.

PARENTS YOU OR YOUR FAMILY INSURANCE IS/ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COST OF MEDICAL HELP OR TREATMENT DUE TO ACCIDENTS OR ILLNESS WHILE AT CHILD CARE.

PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS:

Payment agreements have been agreed upon in your contract. Please abide by the agreement. Payment is due on Friday. If paying by check, make payable to Chanda Haney.

Again! Please give proper notice for days of vacation, sick, emergency, etc... This will save on confusion, hard feelings, and money!

VARIOUS CHARGES AND NOTES:

There will be a $5.00 late charge for each day your payment is late.

There will be a $30.00 charge for checks returned for any reason. If for any reason at anytime there is a check returned NSF for childcare, all payments made after must be by either cash or money order, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please retain your receipts for tax purposes. You will receive a receipt on Monday for the previous week paid.

EARLY PICKUP - LATE DROP OFF:

Should you decide to pick up your child (ren) early for whatever reason, a courtesy call would be appreciated before you pick him/her up. You will still be charged for the full day. This also applies if your child (ren) is/are brought late for any reason. Please have the courtesy to let me know when you will be running late or picking up early. Changes in these times affect my schedule for the day.

TERMINATION OF CONTRACT:

This contract shall be terminated if any one or more of the following occur.

  1. Serious illness of a child preventing attendance.
  2. The account becomes more than 3 weeks delinquent.
  3. Fun Times Childcare determines it is unable to meet the needs of the child.
