Bradlee came into the world right on time. After a week of back labor and 7 hours of hard labor, he was born on October 9, 1994 at 8:00 am. He weighed 7 lbs. 12 ozs. and was 20 inches long. We were thrilled that he was finally here!
My pregnancy was perfect...no morning sickness, steady blood pressure and weight gain, and he was perfectly healthy at birth, scoring high on the apgar (out of a possible 10, he scored an 8 at 1 minute and a 9 at 5 minutes).
A day shy of 2 months old, he caught a bronchiolitis caused by RSV. After many trips to the doctor, ten days later, on December 18, 1994, Bradlee was found in his bassinet, turning blue. We called an ambulance but it was too late. Bradlee had gone home to Heaven. We only had 10 weeks with him.
It took what seemed like an eternity to learn the final cause of death was SIDS.
He is missed dearly, but we look forward to the day that we will be together again. Bradlee has a big sister and is now a big brother. |
