**United we stand, Divided we fall**

Alpha Upsilon Pi Sorority was founded in the spring of 1984 and begun fall 1984. In 1981, Alpha Epsilon Pi sisterhood was founded under the fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity at NYU, but sisterhoods weren't allowed under their name, only little sisters. We wanted to become an independant entity and therefore, we became a local sorority by changing our name to Alpha Upsilon Pi.

Alpha Upsilon Pi Sorority is dedicated to creating a social environment that is conducive to service to both Manhattan College and the surrounding community. We volunteer at the Society for Ethical Culture, located around the corner from Manhattan College, as well as events for the American Cancer Society, such as the Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk, and the Relay for Life. Alpha Upsilon Pi Sorority is also highly involved in organizing fun and unique events on the Manhattan College campus.
