Hayley 'Viridian Faery' van Gelder
All About Me
Hey there folks, my name is Hayley van Gelder although I am known by many other names including 'Viridian Faery' (as you saw above), the Rainbow Princess or Grimditch the Goblin. I could also be known by many other names, all made up of course. Other people might just call me weird.
So, me. I'm 18 years old, born on the 11th June, 1984, which means, at the point of writing, it's not all that long until I'm 19! To tell the truth, I never thought I'd get to be this old . . .
I sorta resemble the above picture. It was taken on my 18th, at a little Indian in Leighton Buzzard, the pokey little hole I currently live in. The waiters had given me the bunch of flowers you see me with - bless! I went to Cedars Upper School, studing Biology, Chemistry and Maths up to A Level. Call me crazy if you will, but it's got to be better than Physics!

She's still at Cedars Upper School and although isn't all that sure what she wants to do with her life, we reckon it'll have something to do with little kiddies and childcare.
Rach and I were both born in New Zealand, although my Mum is English and Dad's parents are Dutch. So with these European connections in mind, they decided to move to the UK. So, in 1995 we hopped on a plane and flew ourselves over here, building a new life in Leighton Buzzard. It wasn't as simple as that, but you get the idea. So, what do I do? When I can, not a lot. I will be working, from the 24th May, '03, in a campsite in the south of France, a campsite called Le Tamaris. It's near the city of Beziers. I will be working for a company called PGL (see links), as a catering/bar assistant. That means feeding and watering the little beasties that are staying on the campsite.
Once the summer is over, I look to going to Lancaster University, way up north, to study Ecology. Why Ecology?! I often hear people cry. Well, firstly Ecology is the study of living organisms and the way they interact with their environment. The environment is something I care for greatly – I want it to stay around for a while yet! What I’m going to do after Uni is anyone’s guess, I’m afraid.
Why this website? Well, I hope that people, both who know me and those who don’t might get to see me when I ain’t around and see what I’m up to.
I hope to include pictures from my recent trip to New Zealand, more of my family, some of my friends and of course, Charlie and Felix - the two cats in my life. You may find also some of my writing – I mostly love to write and even when I don’t I have to write, along with a journal-type thing that I haven’t made up yet.
