Never Done Dreamin'

Hello and Greetings.

I'm a 22 year old Nebraska girl...born and raised...and one of the last few remaining dreamers. Dreamers are a dying breed I'm afraid, and that in itself is one of the true tragedies that this world has to offer.

Dreamers are those people who are often thought to be "lost in their own world", when in reality it's simply a way of looking at things. They are the ones who are often found staring out a window, appearing in deep thought or seeing something that's just beyond what others see. They have the ability to believe...truely believe...that even though aweful things happen, there's always a way to make things better.

It's taking those memories and dreams they hold dear, and keeping them alive for the future. Like treasured toys from childhood, they are taken out, dusted off, re-freshed with a new coat of paint, and put in a special place.

It's been said that dreamers are optimists who wear their hearts on their sleeves for all the world to see. I always wondered why people saw that as a bad thing.

I am one such dreamer. It's an easy admission for me to make, being that I've always known I was one. I have always simply had a way of looking at the world that differed from many people around me. I believe in the power of one's dreams, and the power each and every one of us has within us to make those dreams come true.

For me, I dream of finding that one special person to spend my life with. I dream of finally getting the chance to do what I truely enjoy...writing stories.

Over the last year, my self-esteem, positive thoughts and enjoyment in the simple things in life has suffered. I was injured a little over a year ago, and have had some trouble finding myself again. Now however, the time is passing, and as my shoulder heals, I'm finding myself a little more like myself every day.

I've even started writing again. I've written a few stories on the Gargoyles web-site that I've listed below under my pen name of "Starr Wiliams", and it's something that I've come to enjoy.

For those of you who haven't seen the Gargoyles series, I highly reccommend it. Yes, it's a cartoon, but the stories found withing the animation have appealed to many adults that I know. It's a wonderful story, full of action, great animation, and a "Beauty and the Beast" kind of romantic tale thrown in.

O.K., O.K., enough rambling. For those of you brave enough to venture here, you have my thanks, and my best wishes for the future.

Take care all, ~Sara
