Race #2 was a 6 furlong turf race with a purse of $20,000, and only two-year olds were eligible.
The second race here today at Chatham Raceway was 6 furlongs on Turf. There were 6 entries, but the two front runners Adagio Raine and Gone to be a Fox started out in the lead. They were followed closely by Flubber and Aerabellon Skydancer with Wonder's Star and Heavenly Skies in the rear. At the half way mark it was a battle between the two front runners as well as in the pack that followed at their heels. Gone to be a Fox couldn't hold his speed and slipped back as Adagio Raine took the commanding lead. Aerabellon Skydancer put on the gas on the end but it wasn't enough to overcome the two front runners who led the whole way. At the line it was Adagio Raine taking the win, with Gone to be a Fox a length behind. Aerabellon Skydancer came in as show despite a late break. Flubber came in just shortly after. Heavenly Skies and Wonder's Star finished out the race, but behind in a considerable distance. It seemed as though they both weren't cut out for the distance of the race. It was a great day for the winners and good luck next time to all.
