Race #11 was a 1&1/2 mile turf race with a purse of $20,000, and only three-year olds were eligible.
Coming in first was a front-running filly named Ultimate Speed from Leavenworth Farm. She was 1/2 lead ahead of the nearest contender, Osiris's Desert Storm. Osiris's Desert Storm, from Zephyr Wind Acres, still ran an extremely good race when you consider the small margin of 1/2 length between him and Ultimate Speed. Coming from the #4 post was Shadow's Fantasy and she recovered from the outside post to come in third, just a length behind the second place horse, and 1&1/2 lengths behind Ultimate Speed who took first. Shadow's Fantasy is owned by Sweet Shadowbrook Stables. The last place horse, Awake and Dreaming from Queen Elizabeth Raceway, was obviously not suited for this distance. Though she usually is a front runner, her tactic did not work and she faded quickly. Awake and Dreaming finished 3 lengths behind the third place colt.
