Rudder, page 2

The rudder skin is fitted to the spar/rib assembly. It is being held together with cleco fasteners. After one side is attached, the rudder is flipped over and the other side is drilled and attached. (Not visible is a 32 mm spacer placed under the lower trailing edge of the rudder.) Later, A4 (1/8 inch) Avex rivets will replace the clecoes.

A notch is cut in the trailing edge of the rudder skin to accomodate the light fixture to be mounted there.

The nose skin is carefully fitted to the bottom nose rib and top rib. You can see the green carpenter's square placed against the bottom of the rib to ensure the rib is 90 degrees to the spar.

The rudder is placed in a jig built from the packing box for the nose skin fitting. The bottom edge of the nose skin is placed under the pre-drilled rear skin for drilling.
