The rear spar comes in two pieces (three, counting the connecting piece). It is important that this
is straight. After aligning the two pieces on the bench and drilling the holes, I applied zinc chromate and then
rivetted the pieces together with 12 A5 rivets.

At the right is a picture of a nose rib. Afixed to the top of the rib is the leading edge slat bracket and the flange reinforcement I made from the aluminum angle stock
provided in the kit.
An unattached reinforcement is laying on the bench just
below the rib. I had to make 8 of these.

 | I built three 90 degree plywood braces to
hold the main spar square to the bench.

Here is the main spar/rib
assembly after drilling all rib holes, de-
burring, zinc chromating and rivetting.
A5 rivets were used.

 | Rib station 4 called for a larger A6 rivet to be installed (bottom). This is because of the thickness of the spar at this point.
