It’s there, just take it It’s there, just waiting Where? Just there? It’s there lying still Smiling and laughing and waiting …She is there
In a dark lonesome place just lying there
Not able to cry to speak, too weak to move
As you wait awaiting a person to take you home
A place you never knew, a place you did not lose
A smell ridden place that was void of love
With animals as your trash-side companions
Not unlike our Savior did you enter this worldBut with out power over your dominion
So you waited…
Looking up into the bright light you see a shadow
A public servant who had found another one
And, doing his duty took you to a despairing refuge
Where you began your dreaming and aspirations
Yet, no matter how hard you cried no one came
Sure people came to visit and to tickle and laugh and hold the new one
But no one really came, no one took you home
Yet your dreams were filled of your mother’s arms.
The Sisters love and care for you as their own
They held your hand as you were dying of TB
And soothed and protected you through your rickets
And praised God when you finally became healthy
And your Mother and I waited….
We knew you, yes, through this time
We were there looking and wondering at the answer shown
And thinking and dreaming and hoping and praying,
And then you were ours. And you were home
And you are home….
