Nicki has two horses, and a dog. Like any other 15 year old girl, she likes to listen to music, hang out with friends, go to parties, and go to movies.
She is a bit picky in who gets to read her stories first. Usually they are; KaLiegh (friend), Kristin (friend), Tory (friend), Desire` (friend), and Hannah (cousin). Once the story starts to show her usual flair, Jayson (friend), Derrick (friend), and Courtney (friend) are allowed to read them.
Nichole V. is a fellow author at OVHS, that will give Nicki Ashh a run for her money. That was apparent during the 9th grade year of English Honors 100.
Some of Nicki Ashh's favourite authors are Sarah Dessen ("Someone Like You," "That Summer"), Joanna Campbell ("Thoroughbred" & "Ashleigh" series), and Bonnie Bryant ("Saddle Club," "Pine Hollow," and "Pony Tails" series). As well as J.K. Rowling ("Harry Potter" series, and Lauraine Snelling ("Golden Filly Series" & "High Hurdels" series).
Nicki says, "I am willing to write about anything. Got an idea? Sure, I'll do my best to write it up for you. Desire` actually gave me the idea for 'White Lightning.' Different things inspire different people...and I guess that I was blessed with the ability to express my inspirations and influences through writing...who knows, maybe I can make something out of all this, or not. We'll just haveta see."
