Very Important People

This is the place to meet some of the people who are important to me for various reasons and in various ways. (In alphabetical order....)
Just a word of warning... This page has been justly accused of being FAR too cheesey so read on at your own peril!

Cliff

The human face of God for me.

I fell in love with Cliff when I was just four years old and my devotion hasn't wavered. Over the years, he has been my counsellor and my guiding light. When my heart is overflowing, he helps to give expression to my joy, and when I despair, his voice soothes my soul. Cliff was instrumental in shaping me into the person I am today.

I may not agree with Cliff's theology but, if not for him, I probably would have not discovered theology at all. You can find out more about Cliff through the Sir Cliff Richard Homepage.

"In my need you have always been there..."

John

Sarah adored him and I would stake my life on Sarah's judgement.

My life took an up-turn from the moment John entered it. Aside from being amazingly talented and The Most Intelligent Man In The World, he is my closest friend, my muse, and my mentor. He makes me laugh, he makes me cry, he challenges me, he stretches my mind, he listens to my deepest thoughts and enters into my wildest fantasies, he tolerates my weaknesses and he forgives me my sins. I am very thankful that he is a part of my life.

"To love another person is to see the face of God..."

Margaret

Finally, someone in the world less tidy than me!

Margaret and I met in theological college several lifetimes ago. Our theology at the time was poles apart, but we were drawn together by our mutual disdain for housework and mothers' club meetings. Since then, our friendship has been cemented in house dust. We argue incessantly, we whinge and moan and gripe to each other, we make and break resolutions with monotonous regularity and then lament our weaknesses, but most of all we laugh.

You can see more of Margaret at The Cat's Whiskers where she endeavours to show that she is really much tidier than I am.

"Let the wine of friendship never run dry..."

Nick

As any dog enthusiast can tell you, it takes good breeding to get beauty, brains and great temperament combined. Clearly Nick has impeccable breeding! He's my far-too-distant cousin and possibly the world's slowest correspondant, but undoubtedly a very special person in my life and a constant presence in my heart.

"This is a chain we'll never break"

Steven

Steven is a friend I can depend upon and that's a pretty rare breed. He is fun, gentle and genuine. He is also unique in that he's the only American I've ever come across to take an interest in and enjoy cricket.

Viv

Vivienne is a friend indeed! Who else in the world NEVER forgets birthdays, always writes even when I am slow to reply, is thoughtful and considerate, and when called upon in a crisis, will come around with mop and bucket in hand, ready to help in any way possible. Not only that, but she's witty and warm and a truly wonderful friend.

Susan

Susan is a person I have known nearly all my life. We've had our ups and downs and there was a time when we really didn't get along very well at all, but we are almost inseparable now.

Who am I? Can I conceal myself forevermore?
