Many Aunts and Uncles, Roys, Marcels Pattersons and Niemies.. And many many cousins. We all love her so very much. For Michelle is forever in our hearts... as a class assignment on April 17, 2000. If I only had one week to live, I would like to spend it with my friends and family. During the day, I would sky dive, go to theme parks with roller coasters, go to water slide parks, spend a day walking around the French Quarter with my Mom and a few other family members, snow skiing in Tahoo, go to San Francisco and take one last cruise on the Bay, And on the very last day, I would have a big crawfish and crab boil and barbeque with all of my family and friends with a large pool and a spacewalk, oh, and a D.J. to play my all-time favorite songs. Each night I would spend out with my friends and cousins, going out clubbing, at parties, at Honey's, dining out at my favorite restaurants. I would not sleep once, not a wink, because I wouldn't want to miss out on anything, or time I could be spending with my friends and family.. Also a class assignment dated 3/12/00 Predict your future after your education Michelle wrote: After I graduate from high school, I plan to go to college. I am debating whether to go to Southeastern or UNO, or out of state. I will major in advertising, and I will receive a master's degree, possibly just a Bachelor's Degree. Then I will either move to New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles to pursue a successful career as an Agency Exec..,slowly climbing my way up to the top to Advertising Manager and finally becoming a CEO. During my career the first few years I will get married and have two children, one named after his father and a girl names Kailan Elizabeth or Christanna Alexandra. Maybe a few years later I may have another son, who would be named Chaise Christopher.. Michelle's wish to be a donor: Michelle indicated on her driver's license that she wanted to be a donor. Michelle's parents had to make the final decision, and we honored her wishes. Michelle's generosity gave three other people a second chance at life. Michelle was always such a giving, unselfish, caring person. She would save some of her birthday money to buy Christmas gifts rather than spend it all on herself.. Both of Michelle's lungs went to a 33 year old woman that had Cystic Fibrosis. This woman was a nurse and resides in Mississippi.. Michelle's mother has received a thank you card from this woman. The recipient of her right kidney is a 55 year old who resides in Louisiana. He is widowed and has five children. He was on the waiting list for 28 months. The liver recipient is a 62 year old female from Louisiana. She is married and has three children. Michelle's other organs were to be donated, but were too damaged due to the auto accident.. Michelle's favorite things at the age of 19: Dancing, and she could dance very well. Those who knew her well will appreciate and hopefully smile at that statement. Her dog, Tyson as Michelle called him, "My baby,Ty-Ty" Michelle's favorite foods: sushi, pizza, Taco Bell late at night with her cousin, Jessica. Michelle's favorite treat: Her mom's homemade oatmeal and raisin cookies. Michelle enjoyed drawing, painting, reading mysteries. Michelle loved shopping for shoes, clothes, and sunglasses. And she loved roller coasters, and making people laugh.. On 3/27/02 at approximately 4:20 Michelle spoke to her boyfriend, James, on the phone, and told him she was coming over to do her laundry when she got off work. She left work at 4:30PM (she was a clerk at Kenner Regional Medical Center). She encountered another car at a 4-way stop sign driven by an 18 year old girl, and the only witness to the accident. Michelle attempted to go straight on Vintage Lane towards Lake Ponchartrain, however once she came upon the 4-way stop sign, she turned "or" was forced to turn by the other driver on to Chateau Estates Blvd. There was no reason for her to turn on to Chateau.. Shortly after making the turn, she lost control of her car, she hit a curb, and instead of stepping on the brake, she stepped on the gas pedal. This sent the car airborne, and stopped as it wrapped around a tree.. Michelle's best friend is her cousin, Jessica Roy, they were like sisters, born three weeks apart.. Michelle came into this world 4 days late. She was a wonderful baby, she didn't cry unless there was a reason. She liked to play in water and enjoyed her baths very much. She was very smart and independent. She began her life on Oct. 26, 1982 from birth to the age of 10, we lived in New Orleans. We then moved to Orlando, Fl. and six months later to Tampa, Fl. We lived in Tampa for 18 months. In Sept. 1994, when Michelle was 12, we moved to San Francisco, Ca. Michelle lived in Ca. for a number of years, then decided to go back to New Orleans to live with her Dad for awhile.. She enjoyed living there with her family and friends, and wanted her momma to join her there. She enrolled at Delgado University in the fall of 2001, and was working at Kenner Medical Center when she went to be an angel. For those that loved and knew Michelle: Michelle was bopping up and down to music before she could walk, she loved to dance as we all know. She had a lot of charisma, she could pull a group of people together, and she had such a large, diversified group of friends.. A few things you could count on with Michelle--when it came to getting ready to go somewhere, you had to wait! It was just a part of her. She loved animals. She had a lot of enthusiasm for life, so full of life.. In Michelle's memory, I ask that you all please drive carefully. As she said to her cousin, Jessica just 6 weeks before the accident "PST girl, nothing is gonna happen to me." We never know what life holds for us. Sometimes when you are out shopping or trying on sunglasses, or out dancing, smile and think of her. Christmas 2000, Michelle wanted a Cross necklace (A crucifix necklace). In Dec. 2000, I had 2 cross necklaces blessed, one for Michelle, one for me. I felt the necklaces would be a connection for her and I, no matter where we lived.. I gave Michelle her necklace on 12/25/00, unfortunately someone stole it. She wanted another one, and I gave it to her on 12/25/01. She loved it and wore it all the time. I had it blessed. The night before her accident She was playing with a little boy, and the necklace broke off her neck. The day of her death, the necklace was repaired, and it is with Michelle. There was a photo taken of her 3 weeks before the accident, this photo was on display throughout her services. Since the night of the accident, I had asked her to let me know if she was OK. During the Mass service, she gave me a sign. As I looked at the photo, I could clearly see the cross above her head and at that point I knew she was OK. I wanted to know if others could see it, and they could. The cross necklace was a bond between us, I don't think she could have given me a better sign.. In Memory of our Angel There are always questions regarding religion or the belief in God.. There are tragedies that happen everyday that make us question these beliefs. I would like to believe there is a God, but I do believe in angels. Not necessarily with wings, halo, and harps. But angels among us. I hope that all of us have been blessed by knowing someone who always smiles. Someone who lights up a room when they walk in. Someone who has a pure, loving heart. Someone who will succeed in whatever they do. I had the privilege of knowing someone just like that. An angel among us.. But she was taken away from us. She was so young and full of life. Michelle was that angel, still is.. She was with us one morning, and in one tragic moment she was gone. But for me and all who knew her, she will live on in each of us. Her life may have been short, but she engraved a place in all of our hearts. And she is and forever will be an angel among us.. Melissa and Vicki Mongiat.. The meaning of Michelle, a name of Hebrew origin meaning "who is like God" Is always happy to see her family and friends. Her manner is gentle, but her spirit is strong. She outshines those around her. She knows the worth of good character A winner is what she is She has a kind and generous heart Friends look to her for support and advice.
