On the Spot photography is my online portfolio for my photography. It was launched on May 30, 2007.
Why "On the Spot"?
I chose the name "On the Spot" because I felt like it represented my work. While I have done still life shots that I arranged specifically for the shot, I prefer to capture subjects as I naturally find them. This lends to a somewhat spontaneous photo shoot of sorts. That, and it's just a fun name and gave me an excuse to use dalmatians in the site layout.
How long have I been doing this?
I've been interested in photography for a little over 2 years now. I first got hooked on it while playing around with the family digital camera one summer afternoon. It was the humblest of beginnings, but I learned a lot about the basics from that camera. From then on, I became interested in perfecting shots and techniques. Now I'm hoping to really take that interest to a whole new level.
What camera do I use?
Nothing special. At the moment, I'm working with a HP Photosmart M437. What I like about my photography is that I don't have any expensive equipment to work with, but in spite of that, I feel I still manage to get some pretty cool shots. It poses a challenge sometimes and forces me to really get close to the subject, as well as creative with my shooting. This was especially true with the camera I was using before, my mom's Kodak CX 7300 (from the EasyShare line). As sad as that is, that camera served me well. In fact, all the old shots on the site right now are products of that camera.
