My name is Stephanie Donjon. I'm 19 years old and am originally from Waterloo, Illinois, where I grew up.
I spend about nine months out of the year living upstate in Normal, Illinois, where I am currently an undergraduate at Illinois State University. I'm studying for a double-major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
At university, I am extremely involved with the ISU Forensics, the nationally-reknown collegiate speech team. I've had a rather successful first year with the team, qualifying for both national tournaments, and placing in to the quarter finals of the American Forensics Association National Tournament.
Additionally, I had a brief stint with ISU's official university newspaper, The Daily Vidette, where I worked as a features reporter for a semester.
When I'm not studying, doing schoolwork, or practicing speech, I enjoy hanging out with friends, reading, writing, web design, video games, playing the saxophone, and of course, photography.
I first got into photography about two years ago, pretty much just fiddling around with my mom's digital camera. It was nothing special, but I learned a lot of the basics just from experimenting with it.
Since then, I've come a long way, and not to mention, upgraded my camera. While I don't have a super-professional (and very expensive) camera to work with, I like being able to prove that I can get some rather decent shots without spending a fortune. I've managed to score some great shots with some pretty simple cameras (and a bit of luck). To me, it's not only a challenge, but a real rewarding experience.
