The Christmas Magi of Birch Bay
Christine DeSmet is a novelist, screenwriter, and writing teacher at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her new mystery series, The Fudge Shop Mystery Series, set in Door County, Wisconsin, debuts in September 2013. Her first novel, a romantic suspense called SPIRIT LAKE, is an award-winning, best-selling novel available now from Mundania Press. In the film world, she co-authored with Peggy Williams and Bob Shill a true-story film script "Chinaware-Fragile," which is a past winner of the Slamdance Film Festival writing contest and was optioned by New Line Cinema. With Peggy, Christine has optioned other projects. She's a fellowship graduate of the Warner Bros. Sitcom Writers Workshop, and member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum, Romance Writers of America, and Writers Guild of America, East. She has a bachelor's and master's degree in journalism from UW-Madison and grew up on a farm near Barneveld, WI. MEN OF MOONSTONE SERIES, with the first two books and a bonus novella in the series, is also now available, and is a 2010 EPIC Award finalist. Additionally, Christine had a romantic mystery novella in THE OBJECT OF ROMANCE ANTHOLOGY, Stolen Pleasures, published by the now defunct Beacon Books. THE OBJECT OF ROMANCE ANTHOLOGY was nominated for a 2007 CAPA (anthology category). The first cozy mystery in the Fudge Shop Mystery Series will be FIRST-DEGREE FUDGE in September 2013.
