Roxi Romano's Midwestern neighbors probably think her most wicked vice is her love of chocolate. They'd be wrong.
An avid reader of just about any genre, it was simply a matter of time before Roxi discovered erotica. But it took her a few years and three award winning romantic suspense novels before she wrote her first erotic romance, FANTASIES R US.
Roxi Romano is a longtime member of Romance Writers of America and Wisconsin Romance Writers. Her newest release is TWO GROOMS FOR DANI. Also available is The Sex Slave in both paperback and ebook formats. Click on the Books & Awards button above to purchase any of Roxi’s books.

Two Grooms for Dani

Princess Danika Dubhraic is a rebel of her own making. A Top Gun pilot, she's sworn off marriage. But Dani has a secret. She's been waiting a decade for her lover to tire of being the biggest stud in the galaxy and marry her.

But she's yet to know just how hot he is until they're contracted to marry to cement a peace initiative between their peoples. Much as she's attracted to Joryn, Dani's incensed she has no say in the arrangement.
Enter lover Brody Callahan with his own marriage proposal. But does he love her or just want to win the girl?

4 Tea Cups! "Roxi Romano has done it again with Two Grooms for Dani. Man I loved Dani in this book for she’s got [the pick of] two guys who want her and...to test in this case. Definitely a book worth reading and ladies beware--ice, you will need it." ~Happily Ever After Reviews
“Offered a little bit of everything from action to suspense to intensely written erotic scenes. Romano did a great job showing all the different dimensions an alpha male personality can have. The futuristic science fiction background was definitely interesting. Dani being royalty but insisting upon making her own way was also nice. Overall the book was good and I’ll be interested in seeing what else Romano will write.” ~Pajama Mommy Community
"The solution to all this angst [between Dani and her grooms]...tied everything neatly in a bow... All in all, a spicy sexy read with enough intrigue thrown in to keep the reader interested." ~Chris for Night Owl Reviews

What's the story behind TWO GROOMS FOR DANI? What about the characters intrigued you?
One of my favorite authors writes a series where there are two men in the heroine's life. I love that, through more than a dozen of her books, I'm still as conflicted as the heroine about which man she should choose as her forever man. So, for totally self-serving reasons, I wanted to see if I could create that kind of sexual tension that would keep a reader conflicted about the right man for my heroine right to the end.
Of course a heroine facing that much testosterone had better be one strong dame. So I made her, not just a fighter pilot, but a top gun, the best of the best. When I asked myself where the need to be the best came from, I liked the idea that she came from privilege. This gave her a motivation that didn't end at gaining her goal of being the best pilot. It gave her a deeper conflict that grew from a need to prove there were more options for a woman than marriage--to thwart the control of her royal parents who were politically manipulated. It made her a rebel, actively demonstrating that women can do anything men can do. So, when faced with an arranged marriage, what else would you expect a rebel to do but fight it. Add a secret love for her unattainable lover and deep respect for her intended groom and Dani's conflicts multiply exponentially. What intrigues me about Danika is what drove her to become the woman she is and how she uses the conflicts created by an event beyond her control to resolve the reality that none of us are as free as we wish to be.
What intrigues me about Brody, Dani's longtime lover, is he has a secret of his own. He's in love with the woman he once targeted as a conquest. Even as he's sowed his wild oats throughout the galaxy, Dani was the only one he kept coming back to. But she's sworn off marriage. Typically, this seemingly fearless hero is afraid to risk rejection by revealing his love for Dani. When she's been backed into a corner by an arranged marriage, he finally risks all by using the opportunity to offer his own proposal. Now if only the dolt would say the words Dani longs to hear: "I love you." He's such a typical guy. But he loves her and wants to be her hero. It doesn't hurt, either, that this macho man as some shortcomings that put him into some funny fixes with Dani.
What intrigues me about hero number two is, like Brody and Dani, he too is rebel. Though his cool, controlled demeanor demonstrates a rebel with a firm set of standards. Joryn is most emotionally mature of the trio. He's already grown to the point that he knows how to deal with life's "the bigger picture." I love that he respects and cares enough about Dani to give her every opportunity to "choose" to accept "the arrangement" even though he knows she has no more choice in the matter than he has. I love how his and Brody's willingness to sacrifice themselves in the end teach Dani that love is measured in more than words.
Complete this sentence: When I get a bad review for a book, I…
…shrug it off. We each have our own opinions/likes and dislikes. Even a reviewer can't be objective enough to ignore what speaks to her and what doesn't. I don't expect to please everyone.
Which would you rather have: your own personal secretary or maid?
Maid! Let someone else scrub the soap scum from the tub surround! Please, someone get the dust out of all the little grooves in the woodwork and vents I never seem to get to. Wash my windows and let the sunshine in. Polish the footprints off my wood floors. Stack the pillows on my bed as beautifully as if done by a designer.
Is there any food or drink you simply can’t live without?
Is there a woman alive who can live without chocolate? Okay, maybe there is. But she's definitely misguided.
What are you working on now?
I want to return to the fantasy spa in FANTASIES R US. That wonderfully less-than-perfect sex spa featured in my first release from Ellora's Cave was such a fun setting, I've always known there were other hapless heroes and heroines in need of its misadventures. So I'm trying to decide on which of two stories to write next in that setting.
What can readers look for next from you?
I don't have anything submitted anywhere at the moment.

Cassie Walder is your basic Mom-next-door type, considering herself the
last person anyone would
imagine as an author of romantica. Yet her romantica
tales have
been a lot of fun to
write, critically well received, and have sold quite well. Cassie's story Bloodstone Cure is available now in TALES FROM THE TREASURE TROVE, the first award-winning Jewels of the Quill anthology. Her story Deck the Halls was in the Jewels of
the Quill Christmas anthology, SMALL GIFTS. Cassie's newest release is a sensual contemporary romance titled OTHER PEOPLE'S SECRETS, available from Phaze.
OTHER PEOPLE'S SECRETS
Gina Matthews is determined to put the past behind her and make a new life for herself and her career. Leaving Houston and her unfaithful fiance behind, she heads for Illinois, yet finds some aspects of the past are difficult to avoid.

What's the story behind OTHER PEOPLE'S SECRETS? What inspired you to write this book?
Friends were talking about a retired man who had failed to get a divorce before he married his trophy wife. I thought it would be interesting to explore something of what it would be like to be a child of such a man. Then the Phaze contest came up and I altered the story to fit their guidelines and submitted it.
What do you like best and least about writing?
I have one answer for both questions. I set my own hours. That's both the best and the worst.
Why do you write what you write?
It's a five letter word--money. Erotic and sensual romance sells quite well as a rule. And a girl has to eat.
Is there a genre you've never written in and want to?
Non-fiction. I've a half dozen projects calling my name. So, fiction is going to be largely backburnered over the next couple of years while I tackle these projects.
How long does it take you to write a book?
Depends on the book. Anywhere from weeks to years.
What is your favorite hero type and why?
The favorite heroes are the ones who mesh well with the heroines.
Do you have any words of encouragement for aspiring authors?
Follow your heart. If you follow your stomach, and write largely for money, it's a very hard way to make a living.
What are you working on now?
Non-fiction projects. And several stories for upcoming Jewels of the Quill anthologies. As well as a considerable amount of web design work for paying clients.
What can readers look for next from you?
The second book in my dragon series (The Saurian Series), Bloodstone Legacy, is coming out in in TALES FROM THE TREASURE TROVE, Volume III March 2007. Jewels of the Quill recently sold their 2008 anthologies, and TALES FROM THE TREASURE TROVE, Volume IV (March 2008) will include the third in The Saurian Series, Saurian Bloodstone.
