Bound Spirits
“Harrity Scaritty, on the mountain-side, in the realm of the dead, how will you escape, how will you be fed? With the living and the undead”… Nestled on Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin is a small, secluded town called Bloodmoon Cove with volatile weather, suspicious folk…and newly awakened ghosts bent on revenge. Esmeralda “Esme” Dumas comes to the town looking to find work surrounded by wide-open nature, and most of all looking for a place to hide. Bloodmoon Cove Park Ranger John Kotter senses immediately that she has ghosts of her own. As a child, Esme was kidnapped and locked in a cold, dark basement. Her friends were rodents, insects, and the changeable terror that held her hostage. The only thing that kept her sane those nightmare years were her books. She’s been on the run since her escape a few months ago, never expecting to find another bound spirit come back to life. Read an excerpt Read reviews--coming soon

The Bloodmoon Curse reissue
An unsuspecting nurse is lured to an ancient family mansion said to hold both ghosts and horrifying secrets in order to care for three orphaned children. Amberlyn Lyons has recently suffered a devastating miscarriage that has torn her marriage apart and shaken her faith. She quietly takes a nanny position at an isolated mansion in Bloodmoon Cove without electricity, telephone, or ease of passage. The moment she walks into Bloodmoon Manor, Amberlyn deduces that all things aren't as they seem. The eerily similar owners distrust doctors who, in thirty years, have been unable to cure their severely deformed daughter Katerina. Katerina both idolizes and despises Amberlyn for her beauty. Childishly cruel, Katerina enjoys tormenting the orphans by telling them tales of the malicious ghost that haunts the decaying mansion. Amberlyn discounts the paranormal legends as made-up stories until she hears the shuffling of footsteps in the cold, dark halls and feels that she's being watched at every turn. She knows the ghost is real and she must protect the children. But when she discovers a graveyard behind the mansion filled with babies who died at birth or shortly thereafter, she realizes the ghost of Bloodmoon Manor is really a family curse and she was brought there to uphold the family legacy of that curse. Either she finds a way to escape with the children...or she becomes the next bloodmoon bride. Note to readers of the first edition of THE BLOODMOON CURSE (published by Samhain Publishing): In order to fit this book into my new series, Bloodmoon Cove Spirits, minor changes had to be made to it concerning some of the secondary characters in the book who later become main characters in another series book. Other minor changes were also made. Please read this summary to find out specific details on all the revisions made to this second edition of the book. Read an excerpt
4 1/2 Hearts! "THE BLOODMOON CURSE is an eerie, suspense-filled tale of murder and insanity by Karen Wiesner. This emotionally stirring suspense will keep the reader anxiously waiting the answers at the end of the book. Be prepared to not put this one down once you start reading. Amberlyn is a woman like many that tried to balance a marriage and career. She marries a man whose parents believe women should stay at home. When she suffers another miscarriage she feels responsible and she feels that her husband holds her at fault. This is heartbreaking as the two each deal with their pain alone and find themselves not sharing their true feelings. The story is fascinating as well as highly suspenseful. Something walks the halls of Bloodmoon Mansion and it is coming for Amberlyn at the time of the full moon. This is what she is told and later comes to believe when she comes to work at the mansion. Even as the reader believes they have it all figured out there is still surprises left to experiences throughout the story. The fear builds as the reader worries about the safety of three small children and a woman that comes to love them. Amberlyn prays for help and struggles to figure out a plan of escape. The anxiety is almost overwhelming when escape seems impossible. Love and God will be called upon to save them from the danger that stalks Amberlyn. The storyline is highly imaginative and the descriptive skills of Karen Wiesner make the scenes come to life for the reader. THE BLOODMOON CURSE is a frightening gothic tale filled with anxiety building suspense and inspirational romance." ~The Romance Studio http://www.theromancestudio.com/reviews/reviews/bloodmooncurseweisner.htm Read more reviews

Crooked House
An orphan for as long as she can remember, Corinne Zellman is stunned when she receives a letter from a lawyer, telling her she’s the long-lost niece of Maxwell Zellman, the eighth. Stuck in a dead end job and a relationship with a man who has no interest in marriage or anything like it, she willingly pulls up stakes and abandons everything she knows to live out her life in Bloodmoon Cove with her persistent, elderly relatives. But Crooked House quickly lives up to its disturbing name, and she begins to suspect that her new family had ulterior motives for demanding that she come to live with them. The only reason she can find worth staying is neighbor Rafe Yager, a hardened soldier with plenty of scars but no illusions and certainly no faith. Rafe intended to return to his family home and live out a quiet, secluded existence. He didn’t plan on meeting a wide-eyed, wholesome dreamer like Cori. But Crooked House is falling, and the family needs the blood of someone young to carry on its sinister legacy. Can Rafe save Cori from a sacrifice she never meant to make when she unknowingly accepted an invitation from evil itself? Read an excerpt--coming soon Read reviews--coming soon

Return to Bloodmoon Manor
Daniel and Hannah Reynolds are newly married with their first child on the way when a notice comes from a lawyer saying that the remaining member of the Bonavaris clan has returned to her ancestral home in Syria and willed Bloodmoon Manor and all its possession to Hannah, her former maid. While Hannah can’t fathom the reason for the bequeath, the notion of selling the house and the valuable items inside it begins to grow inside her like an obsession. She and Daniel have begun their married life with little more than outstanding debts from his medical education—debts that come due around the same time as the birth of their baby. After a lifetime of poverty, Hannah refuses to allow her children to face the kind of scavenging, hand-to-mouth existence that had led to her employment at the horrible Bloodmoon Manor in the first place. Unable to convince his beloved wife to forget about returning to Bloodmoon Cove to secure the future for their family, Daniel has no choice but to follow her into what he aptly recalls as “the mouth of hell”—a place Hannah just barely escaped with her life last time. Daniel’s worst fears are justified when the doors of Bloodmoon Manor slam shut behind them. They’ve been lured here deliberately, and the ghosts that haunt the dark, evil castle aren’t willing to let them leave ever again… Note to readers who may have read the original edition of THE BLOODMOON CURSE (published by Samhain Publishing), which is something of a prequel to this story: In order to fit this new story in with secondary characters Hannah and Daniel in THE BLOODMOON CURSE (who have become main characters in this new book), I had to make some tweaks and changes to their characters, actions and, very minorly, to their physical descriptions while revising THE BLOODMOON CURSE in order to set up for this new book. Nothing too major, but those who have read the previous version will have to read the revision in to take into account those changes necessary to tell the story in RETURN TO BLOODMOON MANOR. Haunted Legacy After a teenage pregnancy and a shotgun marriage, Danielle Knight and Andy Bennett tried to balance school, their relationship and being young parents…unsuccessfully. Divorce was inevitable, and the two moved in different directions. Andy started a successful graphic design business while Dani’s art career took off with the help of her agent, Douglas Marx, a man whose reputation for turning unknown female artists into international celebrities was spoken of in art circles in hushed tones as if he’d used black magic. Dani has dismissed the rumors, but she knows Douglas’s intentions aren’t entirely business ones when he invites her and her young son David to join him at his family cabin in the small, picturesque town of Bloodmoon Cove. Andy has been coming around again, and Dani finds it harder and harder to resist the love of her life that she’s never gotten over and can’t imagine ever forgetting—even if she knows it might be the best thing for her. Upon arriving at the cabin to give herself time to consider what to do about her ex-husband’s desire to get back together, Dani notices a striking painting of a woman. In the days that follow, she finds herself obsessively drawn to the painting. It’s haunting her and, more than that, it’s changing, becoming the face of someone familiar. Even as Douglas encourages her to become inspired by the painting, she knows something is wrong and she fears what’s happening to her. She’s no longer sure she can save herself from the face in the painting that’s becoming more and more like her own. Can Andy arrive in time to prevent her from falling victim to this haunted legacy?
