Upcoming Projects

Below, you'll find information about some of the as-yet unsold or unpublished projects I am and will be working on.

WOODCUTTER'S GRIM SERIES Collection, Volume II

Note from Karen: More Woodcutter's Grim Series stories. This second volume focuses on the oldest family in Woodcutter's Grim, the Shaussegeny (yes, owners of the cursed cabin spoken of in the first volume stories). This 'mini' series within the larger series will focus on the family curse and the resolution of that curse.

Genre: Romantic Horror Novellas

Book 4: Moonlight Becomes You: Very loosely based on The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse. When her child becomes deathly ill and none of the doctors and specialists can help him, Heather Rowe rushes to Woodcutter's Grim, hoping the boy's father can explain what's happening. But Lance Shaussegeny both intrigues and terrifies Heather as much as what he's told her of his hometown does. She soon learns that nothing in Woodcutter's Grim--including Lance--is what it seems.

intended for TALES FROM THE TREASURE TROVE, Volume VII, A JOTQ Anthology (March 2011 release)

Book 5: Bewitched: Very loosely based on The Little Mermaid, in which a woman becomes bewitched by a mystery man with dark secrets who appears out of nowhere on the abandoned property across the lake from the Shaussegeny estate. Glynnis Shaussegeny's story.

intended for BEWITCHED & BEJEWELED, A JOTQ Halloween Anthology (September 2013 release)

Book 6: One Night of Eternity: Loosely based on The House That Jack Built, in which we find out where Gavin Shaussegeny (Lance and Glynnis' father) disappeared to. Gavin has broken the covenant with his wife by cheating on her, and the betrayal carries a penalty and punishment. Although Gavin tries to redeem himself, the house that he's built for himself is rapidly beginning to tumble down around him.

intended a bonus story in Woodcutter's Grim Series collection, Volume II (late 2013 or early 2014 release)

Book 7: Beauty is the Beast: Very loosely based on Beauty and the Beast, in which a werewolf is trapped in his beast form and isolates himself in the family fortress. When a beautiful enchantress appears, insistent that she's there to break the family curse, the man no longer knows who or what is real. Lance and Glynnis younger brother Ransom's story.

intended as a bonus story in Woodcutter's Grim Series collection, Volume II (late 2013 or early 2014 release)

HUNTER'S BLUES

Note from Karen: This is a story I have mostly outlined about a vampire hunter in the future who discovers a terrible secret his father left behind for him. I may work on this in 2012.

Genre: Futuristic Paranormal Romance

THE DEEP

Note from Karen: This is an scream-out-loud idea for a horror that I have still in the early stages. It'll be about a woman who can't forget her past and the death of her younger sister. When she goes home to sell the family property, she's confronted with all the nightmare-realities of her childhood, still alive and well, right where she left them. I plan to outline this in 2011, then write, revise and polish in 2012.

Genre: Horror

CLUMSY GIRL'S GUIDE TO FALLING IN LOVE

Note from Karen: I have numerous ideas for a book irresistibly titled CLUMSY GIRL'S GUIDE TO FALLING IN LOVE in my head that I'm dying to write about a heroine who's not only clumsy, but annoying to almost everyone around her--inadvertently. Zoe Rossdale is actually a secondary character in a series book that I'm currently working on [GLASS ANGELS]. I just fell in love with this loveable klutz the first time she hit the page. My plan is to outline the book in December 2010, then write, revise and polish in 2011.

Genre: Inspirational Romance

MICHAEL'S ANGEL

Note from Karen: Michael and LeeAnn's story is one I've had with me for at least a decade, but I've never quite finished it. LeeAnn Wagner is a secondary character in [GLASS ANGELS] and Michael Fremont is Jay Samuels' friend in the Marines in [SHARDS OF ASHLEY]. My plan is to outline the book in December 2010, then write, revise and polish in 2011.

Genre: Inspirational Romance

HOME

Note from Karen: I had a very disturbing dream about a woman living in a city she abhors because it's not a safe, nor is the area in that city she and her husband and her little boy reside. When her husband dies very unexpectedly, she's confronted with figuring out where her home is with her young son and trying to come to terms with the loose ends her husband left their lives in. Hoping to finish this one in 2012.

Genre: Inspirational Fiction

ANGELFIRE TRILOGY II

Note from Karen: I do have plans to someday finish what I started with my Angelfire Trilogy, which is filled with characters who need their own books. My tentative plan is to outline all three books at the end of 2012, then write, revise, polish and submit them in 2013. Details:

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book 1: ONLY THE LONELY: Mikey Lund (mechanic at Brett Foxx's garage) and Diane Hoffman (friend of Darlene Foxx's)

Book 2: MIDNIGHT ANGEL: Jamie ("Doobs") Dubois (friend of Brett and Mikey's) and Roxanne ("Rox") Hart (friend of Darlene and Diane's)

Book 3: SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT: Cherish Stephenson (Darlene's boss) and Ty Foxx (Brett and Darlene's brother)

DARE TO LOVE TRILOGY

Note from Karen: Again, because I moved on to so many other projects, these last two books in my Dare to Love Trilogy (RESTLESS AS RAIN was the first book) are still on my list of books to write, possibly in 2013.

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Book 2: KNOCK ON WOOD: Carmen Saxon (Justin Pascal's best friend) and Mallory Novak (Rain Meyer's sister)

Book 3: CRIMES OF PASSION: Bobby Peterson (Justin's "charge") and Melina Souther (waitress at the restaurant)
