Before I left for the army my life had changed so much so fast that it seemed to be heading in to a downward spin. There is only one thing that really saved everything for me. Heather I owe you more then I can ever repay you for, our life together is going to start before you know it. So on to the story........ June 25, 2003 -----> Leaving for basic training. That day was the hardest day of all the days I was in the army I had to leave Heather behind to run from what I fear most. I was as scared as could be when we got on that plane heading to FT. Jackson, NC. The plane landed there some time around 7 pm and we were quickly rush to the base from there we learned that our rights had changed. We no longer had the right to do all the stuff we had when we were in high school and college. We gave up those rights to go fight for your rights to keep them. Basic was the time of you life you learned more about your self then you ever thought was going to be possible.
At basic that is where I met my best friend in the army S-Dog also known as scheafer. We really didn't talk to much there but that was mainly because you can't talk to much at basic. So we spent 9 weeks in Ft. Jackson learning the M-16 A2 oh give me a HEll yeah. lol could shoot worth shit. I got the muscle in the family, my brother the cop got the shooting.
Sep 4 2003 ----> Family day Well, we waited for this day for 10 weeks. The first time we got to see my family and talk to them for more then 10 mins at a time. I wouldn't take back my choice to join the army even though it is hard on everyone for us. One sept 5 we left for Ft. Gordon GA. When we got there we all noticed the kids walking around in their normal clothes.
After leaving basic training I left and entered AIT, traing for our jobs. That is were I met S-dog
Of course the picture above is the of s-dog, My boy is in Iraq right now, but we still talk here and there.
