Stan: I am still active in farming (10ac of avocados) and try to play tennis at least once a week. Barbara and I play with another couple who really give us a battle each Monday evening under the lights at the tennis courts in Valley Center.

During the past few years I have been spending time with Pearl's affairs (Barbara's mother) who is in a convelescent home in Newport Beach: taxes, banking, visiting, etc. It takes me about 1.5 hours for the trip up to Newport Beach.

In 2002, probably the most outstanding hikes have been the climb up White Mountain Peak (~14,000 ft) and the hike to the famous Goat Canyon Railroad Trestle which is the longest wooden curved RR trestle in the world. We had a few problems on that hike going up over several mountain ridges, down through Goat Canyon to the Trestle, and then the rest of the way down Goat dropping over dry water falls ending up in Carrizo Gorge where we started to run out of water.

In 2003 the most outstanding hike so far has been out into the desert to vist the Domelands North East of roads S-2 and I-8. Hiking to the top of Oakzanita Mountain was interesting and we found a hidden Geocache near the peak.
