"Emmys, Oscars, Globes, Oh my! But do they really matter?"

Once again, I return to write my 'Check it Out' article in the paper. I'm going to start off asking this; are you a horror fan? Well any horror fan knows about the Halloween series which features the Michael Myers who doesn't like to shag. So if you've seen the movies, you have, of course, seen the characters. Some are annoying, some funny, some weird and some easy to relate to and likeable. Jamie Lee Curtis played a popular character, Laurie Strode. But when the time came for Halloween 4, Curtis turned her part down. Maybe that was one of the best decisions made. Maybe if it wasn't for her turning down that role, producers wouldn't have looked for a new 'thing' to keep it interesting. Maybe they wouldn't have found the eerie, sad adorable little girl. Yes, we all know Laurie Strode had a little girl, Jamie Lloyd. But did you know that young Jamie Lloyd was played by the beautiful under-appreciated Danielle Harris? You probably realized that by the time Jamie Lloyd was 15, her face and age seemed to change. In other words, Danielle was missing, and fans(including myself) were not too happy with that.

So why am I writing this? The popular band, No Doubt, put out an album around 11 years ago. Nobody cared. They had their fans, but they weren't really known. Now, after years of hard work and zero support from record labels and MTV and such, they're one of the most popular bands today. They might've been even better, if discovered sooner. The same goes with the lovely Danielle. She's been in way over 20 different movies and guest starred in many popular shows, such as Charmed, Boy Meets World, Diagnosis Murder and even landed a spot on Roseanne as Molly Tilden for a year. Her movie credits include Halloween 4 and 5, the only good disney movie, Wish Upon a Star (where she proceeds to dress like a hooker and give us a little dance on the table which was edited out on disney...*dog whistle*) Poor White Trash, Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead, Urban Legend, The Last Boyscout and Daylight. She's starred with Steven Seagal, Bruce Willis, Slyvester Sallone, Donald Pleasance, Christina Applegate and many more. Her character from Halloween, Jamie Lloyd, is popular among horror fans.

Basically, Danielle is one of those actresses who should have more fame than she has right now. She has never won an award (though she's been nominated twice) but with her amazingly realistic skills, she should be raking in those Oscars and Emmys. So why doesn't she? Simple: Hollywood sucks. I cannot say enough about her performance on screen. She's so amazing and brings so much emotion to her characters, they're perfectly believable and she usually makes her usually adult co-stars look like beginners. In case you haven't gotten the point to my Check it Out article, which is slipped into the paper every month, my point is check Danielle out! This 25 (soon to be 26) year old girl is going to be big or her fans, including me, will go on a rampage in Hollywood. She is living proof of the wasted, overlooked talent that deserves more. So, my dear, sweet, insane loyal readers, don't miss out. Become one of her loyal worshippers, like me. In fact, maybe if we scream her name really loud together, Hollywood will pull their heads out of their butts and Danielle will get the fame she genuinely deserves.

If you want more on Danielle, check out http://www.imdb.com and look for Danielle Harris. Also, watch for her new series, the Partners, which is rumored to be airing sometime later this year.
