8-27-02 Hello, We are in the process of building a web site with pictures, the daily update, a message board etc.. for everyone to go to and age info. We will let you know as soon as it is ready. David: They took the collar off and have put his body cast on. The nurses call it a turtle, because that is what he looks like. A shell on the back and a plastic pcs on his front belly that Velcro's to the back. This is to keep his spine less mobile until the fracture heals. He had eaten some Jell-O today. His catheter (sp) has been removed. He still has the feeding tube. Grandma was telling him a funny story and he got a huge grin on his face. I was told that was great to see. Diane: Has developed bacteria in her lungs, so they are treating that. Seems her eyes stay open a little longer and a litter wider with each day. Not much change in her. Still understands who everyone is and what they are saying to her. Lisa: The oral surgeon says her jaw is doing well and will be able to remove the stitches in her chin later in the week. Her cranial pressure is remaining steady. I am unsure of the pressure number, I believe it is still higher than it should be. They have been pumping her lungs for congestion and you definitely know when she does not like what they are doing to her. Reports I am getting are that she seems stronger in her left hand and she tries to push people/objects away when she doesn't like what they are doing. (She is left handed) Lisa still remains in a deep sleep. Peter: I believe he may be released very soon. He started walking about yesterday. He will also need therapy as well as the others. As always, thanks for the support, emails, prayers and anything else I have failed to mention. This is what keeps us going and strong. That goes for our parents and Peters parents as well. Have a great day, I will get that web site to you as soon as it is finished. Please do not stop praying!!!! Laurie and Marianne
