World of Backstreet Boys

Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean were performing as an a cappella trio in Orlando before they called Kevin Richardson who called his cousin Brian Littrell to form the Backstreet Boys. Soon the Backstreet Boys, who took their name from an outdoor Orlando market, were performing at gigs throughout central Florida. The quintet soon came under the control of managers Donna and Johnny Wright. They signed their first record deal on April 20,1993.

The Backstreet Boys eventually signed with Jive Records in 1994 and released their debut album in Europe and Canada in early 1996. The album hit big on the European charts, and the Backstreet Boys became sensations. When their CD was released in the United States one year later, American teens, were primed for its arrival. The album debuted at No. 29 on the album charts on the strength of the hit single "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)." All in all, Backstreet Boys has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.

The much-anticipated BSB follow-up, Millennium, hit record store shelves in the spring of 1999. As expected, it was a huge success, spawning several hit singles, spending over a year on the Billboard Top 200 and selling 12 million copies as of summer 2000. To promote the release of Black & Blue, the Boys embarked on a promotional tour around the world in a 100 hours; it was released on November 21, 2000. The Hits-Chapter One was released on October 23,2001.

THE BACKSTREET BOYS ARE BACK!
The new single was released on March 28. The new video will be released on April 25. The album, "Never Gone", will be released June 14, with a major tour starting on the Fourth of July weekend. But before that, the Boys have plaid a series of warm-up radio promo dates and House of Blues gigs to reconnect with their audience. Though the musical direction has shifted with the times, you can definitely expect to hear a classic BSB album with great vocals and great choruses! Brian, Kevin, Nick, Howie and AJ have been hard at work in the studio for the past several months. The album will include a new track from hitmaker Max Martin! The Boys are back with original manager Johnny Wright and are in incredible spirits!
The only European Backstreet Boys concert in Cologne, Germany was sold out within 5 minutes! After 9.00 am the sales of the tickets for the concert took a true storm broke over the ticket hotline. After only incredible 5 minutes, the concert was already sold out! The enormous rush for the tickets to their single show in Europe brought occasionally the servers to a breakdown. The Band themselves is highly delighted over this success and is momentarily thinking to change their upcoming appointments, in order to come as quickly as possible again back to Germany!
