This is one of the finest live recordings you'll ever hear. Every instrument is mixed superbly. Even the audience chatter is captured to perfection.
I'm not sure why this is entitled "The Epic Collection" due to the fact that only 1 track included originates from Merle's Epic catalog? The only issue I have with this recording is that there's not enough of this incredible performance! The LP runs a little thin at 29:47. Oh how I wish compact discs were already popular in 1983! Could you imagine the full concert being presented in CD quality? On a side note: this recording was released on CD in 1989 by Sony© in very limited numbers. I can remember these going for over $150 each back in the Golden Age of eBay. I miss those days as well :(
At any rate, get this one and put it on repeat. It's superb from beginning to end.
