"Let Me Tell You About A Song" has an overall 'an evening with Merle Haggard' feeling reminding me more of an interview rather than that of an album. This recording spawned 2 #1 hits, yet Merle would rarely perform these songs during his live shows.

I'm not quite sure of the demographic this album was supposed to reach? Possible the Library Of Congress? The narration is 'short and sweet' on a few tracks. However, on most of the tracks the narrative is 'drawn out' unnecessarily for the listener.

I rarely listen to this album even though Merle's voice is superb.

The opinions above are solely those of Sound_man73. If you're like me you'll collect the music either way :)
