Summary: This is a story I wrote for a contest, the challenge was to write a missing scene from Shattered. And here is my scene!(Good Idea now I have another reason to watch Shattered again )
Setting: Just before they enter Engineering at the end.

They rounded the corner and both stood abruptly still. The Corridor was filled with gas and scrap but they had to go though it. After they got though it, they entered Cargo Bay and saw the others. Icheb, Naomi, B`elanna and some other stood there and waited for them, Chakotay and Janeway explained their plan. Tom, Harry and Janeway configured some things and Chakotay took the chance to speak with Naomi and Icheb. They were the only ones that were from the future from his point of view.
"Commander." Icheb greeted him with these words and Naomi turned around from her work. "I know I shouldn`t ask but I`m curious. You mentioned earlier that the Captain and me died seventeen years ago?! What happened to us?" Chakotay said. Naomi and Icheb were uncomfortable with the question, it must have been a terrible time for them. But finally Naomi answered: "You and the Captain were on a mission with a shuttle . You headed to a planet with a nebula next to a star. Soon after you arrived the star became instable and caused heavy discharges in the nebula. Tuvok sent Seven and Harry to rescue you but after Seven beamed down, there was another discharge that burned the whole surface. We didn`t find you, either Seven or the Captain."
Chakotay swallowed he didn`t expect such a answer. Naomi and Icheb looked at him and she laid his arm onto his shoulder and added: "This don`t have to happen, it`s just a possibility, a alternate universe. It doesn`t mean anything." Chakotay nodded and made his way back to Janeway.
Icheb and Naomi shot a glance at each other and Icheb whispered: "We shouldn`t have told him and besides why you haven`t told him about the cause of their mission?" Naomi shook her face. "No, I think it is better if he knew it. If this really happen one day he can prevent it. Why I haven`t told him about their honeymoon? Did you remembered how long it took to admit their feelings for each other? Or the day they finally did? If he knew it he probably never tell the Captain how much he loves her!" Naomi smiled at the last words and Icheb did so.
"Ok, Chakotay is getting in there. Get all to your posts and wait for my sign. Good luck." Janeway stood in the middle of the room next to Chakotay who seemed somewhat puzzled but soon concentrated on his mission. Then he left for Engineering.
