They looked out the door, ready to step into sunlight. What did they see? A long line for some grungy old bathroom and a food stand with stale popcorn? No what they saw was darkness and more thick foggy mist.
Chad said, "Man I'm sick of this mist."
Noah said, "I guess we have to go in I mean it doesn't do us any good to go back."
They walked in to the thick swirling fog. They found themselves in a deserted village. The village houses were made up round clay huts and tall grass roofs. Noah looked into one of the huts, which of course was empty.
Chad looked into another and found two mutant zombie donkeys, eating a decomposing villager corpse.
Both Mutant zombie donkeys had lopsided donkey heads. There bodies were donkey bodies also, but there legs were covered in ace bandages. The first donkey was wearing a blue hat that had the name A.J. On it. The hat was covering as third eye, that was a milky white color. The second donkey was wearing a whit hat with the name Luke on it. The hat was specially fit for his lopsided head. His back was sagging and was at a crooked angle. Both of their eyes were a glazed over.
Chad ran back to where the rest of the group was. The mutant zombie donkeys followed him. The mutant zombie donkeys edged closer to the group of people.
They both started to smile. The mutant zombie donkey with the A.J. Hat looked toward Luke with a look that said mmmm desert.
The mutant zombie donkeys advanced toward them and Chad said, "Aww, how cute!"
Renee smacked him on the back of the head.
"They're gonna eat us!"
"What, now you speak mutant zombie donkey too?" Sebby asked, sarcastically.
"No, but that's the look on their faces!"
The mutant zombie donkeys had them ion a corner now. Sharon decided that she wasn't going to be eaten, pushed past them and started to run. Everyone followed her lead and took off running. They found themselves on a hill overlooking the village with the mutant zombie donkeys in it. Everyone looked around wondering what they should do next.
All of a sudden Renee yelled out.
" Kuko kuko!"
Everybody looked at her oddly. Then a bird that looked remarkably like a human came out of the sky. He sat down on the ground. He had brown hair and eyes with a human body with blue bird wings.
He said, "I am the Evan Bird. I am your guide. Now go back to the little village and get the mutant zombie donkeys. Ride them to the castle."
With that The Evan Bird rose into the air and flew away. They watched him fly into the distance until he disappeared.
Sharon said, "What castle."
Renee replied," Dunno. But let's go get those donkeys!"
They walked back into the village, and the mutant zombie donkeys approached them. The mutant zombie named Luke licked Sebby's arm. Sebby screamed in fright and jumped back.
"It's gonna eat me!"
Renee rolled her eyes and said," They only eat dead people. You're being a bigger pansy than Shawn was!"
Chad inquired, "Did we ever see his corpse?"
Sebby screamed, "Maybe they ate it!"
Noah said, "Only eat dead people huh? That would explain why they didn't eat us."
"Eat you? Why would we do that, you're fresh and not decomposing," Luke said.
"Oookay," Renee said.
"Did you two happen to see Shawn? I mean he wasn't rotting but he was still dead," Noah said.
"You mean the warlock? Yeah, I saw him. He wouldn't let me eat his head!" A.J. Said complaining.
"The bastard!' Renee said.
"Shawn's a warlock that is so cool!" Sebby exclaimed. When Alex gave him a dirty look he said, "I mean that's really bad."
"Wait a minute! So he was the one responsible for changing the doors and shit!" Noah said.
"Yeah I kinda figured that," Renee said dryly.
"Oh, we can decapitate him like in that show Highlander. You know to kill him and all," Sebby said.
A.J reappeared with Bob another mutant zombie donkey.
A.J. Said, "This is Bob. We're going to need him since there are six of you. I could support three of you but my pal Luke over there is a bibliophile and his back couldn't handle it."
"All I wanted was to eat his severed head, and he wouldn't let me! I mean it wasn't like he needed it, another one grew right back in it's place," A.J. Continued his rant from earlier.
Sebby looked crest fallen as Noah said, "Well there goes that idea."
Noah walked over to Luke in hope that he knew how to kill a warlock.
"Do you know how to kill a warlock?"
"No."
"Damn."
Renee suggested, "Well they can take us to the castle now, and when the timne comes, we can figure out how to get rid of him."
Bob finally spoke up, " I get the blondes to ride on me."
Sharon said , "Well, it looks like we're riding A.J. Although I wanted to ride with RE.......
She was cut off by Bob. "Blondes are riding with me."
"Cool. I like the brunettes better," A.J. Said.
They made their way to the castle on a long winding dirt road. It soon grew dark and they weren't even half way to the castle yet
