within a moment of magic

I wait for Him quietly,
Watching out the window for His return,
His words to me play in my mind.
Oh how I miss Him when He is gone.
Lost in thoughts of Him through out the day,
Remembering His smile, laughter,
Kind words of wisdom,
And remarkable way of seeing the truth.
I check to see all is in place,
That everything is ready for His return,
I go over once again what I need to tell Him.
I see Him return home,
Coming through the door tired.
My heart leaps with joy,
As I rush to greet Him.
The words fall quickly from my mouth,
Knowing I won’t have much time.
Others will soon come,
Others that need Him more than I.
Quietly I step back and to His side,
As they make demands upon His time.
Smiling softly as He cares for each,
Sharing the gift that is Himself.
Slowly my eyes begin to close,
I snuggle against Him as I doze.
Drawing comfort and strength,
From His hands and words.
Reaching out to Him with my thoughts,
Hoping and praying He can feel,
All the things that are in my heart.
I feel Him tremble from my touch,
And my own instant response.
Now it time for us.
