I loved her smile, to this day that warmth can still be felt within me. Sometimes when no one is around I still can feel her soft touch, I miss her presence so. She was my Hero, my Mentor, my Mother, my Best Friend. I had never even heard of the disease that took my mother's life, until the age of 18, that was when my father informed me that her illness was fatal. My dad kept this all to himself until she was hospitalized and dad was told that she would probably die in a week. It was hard facing the fact that there was no known cause or no cure for this killers the doctor's called Scleroderma. This site is dedicated to the Loving Memory of my mother, Virginia Santos, who passed away on October 22, 1993. With the hope and prayer that someday this disease like others can be wiped from the face of the earth forever. It is also my hope to give factual information to other families faced with what ours has endured. |
