In addition to being a very socially active sorority we also place a large emphasis upon community service. We take great pridein the amount of community service we complete each year. In past years, we have won community service awards given by Daemen College from the Service Learning Department.Toho
We participate in many events that give back to the greater Buffalo area. Each fall, we host a stationary Bike-a-Thon to benefit the Elizabeth Olmstead, MD Center for the Visually Impaired. We also hold Penny Wars among other organizations at Daemen College in order to raise money for Hearts for the Homeless. Each, spring we help set up at the Cause for Celebration, an event to benefit the AIDS Community Services. In addition, we have an adopted Grandma who we visit weekly at Bassett Manor Nursing Home. |
Besides these special community service activities, we also make holiday decorations for Children's Hospital of Buffalo, help at charity runs/walks, soup kitchens, nursing homes, and at basically any other events where our services are needed. Plus, we hold raffles, clothing drives, and food drives for organizations within our community.
